Why it matters

Your Google Business Profile is your first impression.

A Google Business Profile is your free listing in Google Maps and local search. It shows your hours, phone number, photos and reviews.

When someone searches for a trade near them, the map listings usually appear before the websites. A complete, verified Google Business Profile with recent reviews and photos is more likely to appear there, and more likely to get the call. AI assistants also draw on these listings when they recommend local businesses.

How to read your score

  • 80–100Strong

Search engines and AI assistants can find and understand you. Keep it fresh.

  • 60–79Good start

The basics are there, with a few gaps that are costing you visibility.

  • 40–59Needs work

Important pieces are missing, so you are easy to overlook.

  • 0–39At risk

Customers and AI assistants will struggle to find or recommend you.

Questions about the score

What is a Google Business Profile?

Your free listing in Google Maps and local search results. It shows your hours, phone number, photos and reviews, and it is often the first thing a local customer sees.

Is the Google Business Profile score free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no card. Answer a few quick questions and you get your score out of 100 and the fixes that would win you the most calls.

How is the score worked out?

We score 11 things that affect how often you appear and how many people call: verification, category, hours, photos, reviews, rating, replies, services, service areas, website and recent posts. The points for each are listed on this page.

Do you look up my Google Business Profile automatically?

Where we can, we look up your public Google Business Profile and fill in what we find, like your rating, review count and hours. You can check and change every answer before you see your score.

What makes the biggest difference to my score?

Verifying your Google Business Profile and getting a steady stream of reviews. Together they are worth 30 of the 100 points, and they affect both rankings and whether people call.

Do you keep my answers?

We keep a record of each score (the business name, town and answers, but no contact details) so we can see which fixes matter most to local businesses. If you ask us to talk your results through, we also keep your name and email to reply. We never add you to a mailing list.

Do I keep ownership of my Google Business Profile if I join?

Yes. Your Google Business Profile stays in your name. The Systems Club is added as a manager so we can keep it fresh for you.
